There are several programs for patients who are uninsured/low income and in need of dental care. They must qualify for the Clinic in order to qualify for dental referrals, including living only in Brown County.
Adults:
1. Adults can see our volunteer doctor on a walk-in basis during clinic hours and request a dental referral. This type of referral will require the patient to pay a portion of the bill at the dentist’s office according to their ability to pay from their financial screening. That amount will vary depending on the dentist, but is usually between $25 and $50.The decision to make this referral, however, is up to the volunteer doctor on duty that day.
2. Adults( 18 and up) can be referred to the NWTC Dental Clinic. Patients are put on a waiting list after seeing a MD, NP or Nurse. Most services for NEW Clinic patients at NWTC are $5.00
Children:
1.The Howe Dental program accepts any uninsured child in acute pain that is able to sit in a chair. Referrals are given to Stacy Ross the school nurse at 448-2141. She also accepts referrals for the Healthy Teeth/Healthy Smiles program that is a traveling clinic within area elementary schools.
2.The Fluoride Varnish Program is done through WIC for children ages 1-4. Childen receive up to 3 treatments as well as a toothbrush & toothpaste.
